#AAP attacked #BJP over front-page #ads, ask source of #funding for adsNew Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party had attacked on Bharatiya Janata Party over the full-page advertisements on leading newspaper in Delhi on Friday and asked for the sources of funding for ads.

AAP leader Ashutosh asked the BJP to reveal the source of funding for such front-page ads.

Ashutosh questioned, “From where is the BJP getting money to publish such ads? If such ads are not allowed on TV, then why are they allowed in newspapers?”

He was referring to the rules that permit publication of ads in newspapers even after the end of campaigning. However, such promotion is not allowed in electronic media.

Ashutosh also said, “Apparently, the EC doesn’t find these as violations. But, if on TV ads are not allowed, for newspapers also it should be the same; law should be changed.”

Another senior leader of AAP, Manish Sisodia had also questioned the source of money.

He said, “Ads on front page of newspaper are worth crores. Where is the money coming from? BJP must answer.”

Meanwhile BJP spokesperson GVL Narsimha said, “AAP’s claim that the advertisement is violation of poll code, I believe is ignorance from their side. Either they do not know about the law or Model Code of Conduct or they are making such statements deliberately to remain in news.”

He also said, “The ad just talks about the positive agenda of BJP which the party wants the public to know. There is no violation of any kind. Such ads can be given till the day of polling.”
