New Delhi: Despite rumours, Sachin is in no rush to announce his retirement from international cricket. “I don’t think at this stage I need to do that,” said Sachin, asked about his retirement. “Where is the rush,” he further said during an interview to a TV channel .Asked how he prepares ahead of a match, Tendulkar said, “I prepare a bit before my match. In general, in life mental preparation is required.”Sachin Tendulkar is close to yet another milestone – the 200th Test – but he is not too excited about that .sachin tendulkar said, “When the time is right, I will let everyone know.” While Tendulkar admitted that is appropriate to let his fans know of his decision, he said he will inform them when he feels like.
“I take one step at a time and I have been doing this right through my career,” he said in Mumbai on Tuesday. “I am not looking at the 200th Test. I will think about it when I get there,” he added. The Master said his priority at the moment was the upcoming Champions League T20 tournament and not his unique feat. “I have always believed in not jumping too much forward. Right now we have the CLT20 for which the preparations are in process, after that we will talk about the next thing,” he said on the sidelines of a car launch event. Sachin has kept himself away from controversies throughout his career. Asked what the secret behind it was, the 40-year-old credited his family members for keeping things simple at home.
“Since my school days, whenever I did well in cricket, we had simple celebrations. It has been always like that. My brother had an unwritten law, which was to let others talk about my previous inning while we moved on and planned for the next one. It became a habit. Our lifestyle was simple, the upbringing was simple. My father had set several examples which I followed. We all maintained a balanced lifestyle at home,” his said .Sachin, which is extremely passionate about cars, compared cricket with driving.
“It (driving) is equal to batting. Sometimes you go to bat at 10/2, sometimes you go to bat at 80/2.. You attack when the bowlers aren’t doing well and when your team has an upper hand. Likewise, while driving, you accelerate only after considering several factors like the weather, traffic and the time,” said Sachin. he was expected to play his 200th Test match in South Africa but the Board of Control for Cricket in India has proposed to host a two-match series against the West Indies so that maestro could play his 200th Test match before home fans in India. It remains to be too seen whether Mumbai gets to host the landmark Test to make it a real ‘home’ match for the legend.
Sachin went through a tough phase when his father Ramesh suddenly passed away in 1999, while he was playing the World Cup in England. But Sachin got no time to mourn the loss. He was back to business and cracked 140 against Kenya to inspire India to a victory, just three days later. “I do miss my father; it’s been a long time now, so many things have happened since then and I miss him. But I have some wonderful moments and I cherish them. There are times when I rewind, I remember him but some things can’t be changed,” he said.
