New Delhi: Defence Minister AK Antony on Friday asserted that there is no question of India ceding any part of its territory to China. Making a statement in the Parliament on reported Chinese incursions in Jammu and Kashmir and Antony’s statement was necessitated after Opposition parties wanted the government to clarify on media reports that an official National Security Advisory Board (NSAB) probe report submitted to the Prime Minister’s Office had said that Indian troops are not being allowed to patrol the Line of Actual Control (LAC). The committee in its report allegedly concluded that 640 sq km of Indian Territory has been occupied by China. However, NSAB had denied media reports. Antony while confirming LAC ground situation report by NSAB, said, “The NSAB report reviews the progress of road infrastructure to ensure connectivity of Ladakh and neighboring places; Shyam Sharan’s report does not talk about any Chinese occupation on Indian soil and no question of India ceding to China any part of territory, government would do all to protect India’s integrity,” Antony said, adding that the government would continue to strengthen our capabilities to protect our border areas.
