UP govt says, No plan to build Ram temple in Ayodhya

symbolNew Delhi: The UP government was on Saturday quick to deny reports that it is planning to rebuild the temple in Ayodhya. After the Uttar Pradesh government’s call for a high-level meeting on Ram temple raised eyebrows, The Government said, the meeting on Monday called by the Home Department is to review the situation on VHP call on October 18.”

The reaction from the state government came shortly after reports suggested that the meeting is being called to discuss the rebuilding of Ram Temple on the lines of Somnath temple in Gujarat. The meeting was being called to discuss the reconstruction of “Ramjanmabhoomi on the lines of the reconstruction of Somnath Mandir,” it stated. Earlier reports had stated that Satish Chandra Mishra, the secretary to the UP government, had issued a letter to the senior government officials convening a meeting on Monday evening. However, the state government today said that the meeting has been called as the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has decided to revive the temple campaign.
