VARANASI: In yet another incident of train derailment as many as seven coaches of Jabalpur Bound 11448 Shaktipunj Express derailed near Obra dam in Dhanbad division of East Central Railway (ECR) in Sonbhadra district on Thursday morning.
No casualty or injury was reported. The passengers of derailed boggies were shifted to other coaches, and train headed to Singrauli station. The senior railway officials including DRM MK Akhauri and officials of local administration and police reached there and started rescue work.
The ECR spokesperson RK Singh told last seven coches of the train derailed in between Obra and Fafarkund stations at 6.25am. There was no fatality or injury to passengers. “All the passengers of derailed boggies were shifted to other coaches to move further, and extra coaches would be added in Sigrauli station”, he said adding that the track restoration work was on.
The DRM Dhanbad said that the railway tracks would be restored by 12 noon for train movement. Exact cause of derailment would be found after investigation only.
