Raman Singh take oath as CM of Chhattisgarh third time

Raman SingghRaipur: Dr. Raman Singh has been taken oath as the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh for third time and Bharatiya Janata Party had proved its majority in state. 61 year old Ayurvedic doctor turned politician, Raman Singh, promises a better life for the native of their state.

Singh is also known as ‘Chawal Wale Baba’ (the rice God) had an uninterrupted 10 years rule of naxal affected state. Raman Singh has been known by this name due to his unique pro-welfare schemes which include the distribution of rice at Rs. 1 and Rs. 2 per kg to the families which are suffering to extremely poor and below poverty line categories.

Rice for Rs 1 per kg under the Antyodaya scheme and at Rs 2 for others below the poverty line (BPL) families were touted as one of the main achievements of the Raman Singh government.

Dr. Raman Singh has been credited for bringing Food Security Act much before the “game changer” National Food Security Act of Congress in Chhattisgarh.
