Companies of Jindal group invested 30 crore in Tehelka

Tehelka (2)New Delhi: The Registrar of Companies reveals that those companies who linked with Navin Jindal’s group had invested approx 30 crore in Anant Media in 2008 which values the company at nearby 90 crores. Anant Media is the publishers of Tehelka magazine.

Ponty Chadha had also invested in Tehelka. Ponty Chadha was the controversial liquor businessman who was killed in a gun battle with his younger brother, and Trinamual Congress MP K D Singh.

The documents stated that Jindal group had invested in Anant media in 2008.Enlightened Consultancy Services and Weldon Polymers pumped in 28.35 crore in Tehelka. They had offered a premium of Rs. 10, 623 for a share of Anant Media which effectively value at Rs. 93.2 crore. Enlightened Consultancy Services invested Rs 16.75 crore and Weldon Polymers invested Rs 11.60 crore.

Document reveals that Weldon shares the address with a firm belonging to Jindal group which is named in a recent CBI FIR in the coal scam. Weldon holds 5.87% stakes in Anant Media.

ND Exim accuses Jindal of paying Rs 2.25 crore to former minister of state for coal Dasari Narayana Rao through ND Exim as quid pro quo for coal block allocation. ND Exim is also named in the FIR of June 2013.

Manoj Chauhan and Surinder Pal Singh are the two directors of Weldon Polymers. Singh is also director in Jindal Power Transmission, Jindal Hydro Power, Jindal power Distribution, India Flysafe Aviation while Chauhan is the director in Weldon as well as India Flysafe Aviation.

Surprisingly Enlightened Consultancy Services had sold its stake to Anant Media at just Rs. 10 per stake in 2009 while they purchase it at the premium of 10,623 in 2008. The holding company of Tehelka had sold shares at Rs. 2,505 to KD Singh’s company just after few days. KD Singh is MP in Rajya Sabha from Trinamool Congress.
