UDF Chief P C George “Run for Unity”

PC GeorgeThiruvananthapuram: The Chief Whip of United Democratic Front of Kerala Assembly PC George had take part in “Run for Unity” marathon which was organized by Bharatiya Janata Party. UDF is congress led party. As all the parties of India setting up for Lok Sabha election which is going to held in 2014, it seems that wearing a Saffron Shawl of BJP by UDF Chief create buzz in politics.

Meanwhile PC George, the Vice president of Kerala Congress (M), has no remorse about this magnanimous gesture he had on Sunday in Kottayam in Kerala. He said that he doesn’t find anything wrong in participating in a function organized by BJP.

George said, “”The marathon was conducted on Sardar Patel’s death anniversary day in order to raise fund for building his statue.  BJP leaders invited me to flag off the run and I readily agreed to do so as I admire Patel. I have immense respect for Sardar Vallabhai Patel.”

Notify that this function was held as a part of mobilization for building 182 metre statue of Sardar Patel in Narmada river in Gujarat.

However the State Congress leaders have expressed shock over the incident and want a strict action against George. They demanded for the removal of George from his post of Chief Whip.

Former KPCC president K Muraleedharan said, “This is something congress can’t tolerate. P C George was ridiculing congress for quite sometime now and he openly participated in a function organized by opponent BJP. There should not be any compromise this time in the case of George.”

KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala said, “George’s act is deplorable.”

Congress spokesperson Panthalam Sudhakaran said, “George had crossed all limits now. He should not be allowed to continue as chief whip.”

Kerala Congress (M) Chairman and finance minister of Kerala, K M Mani said that he will discuss the topic within the party and will take appropriate action against George.

Congress MLA TN Prathapan said, “This is unacceptable. George should go.”

It is not the first time when George had created sensation. George had written a letter to Congress chairperson on August 14, 2013 that he had evidence to prove the role of Oommen Chandy, the CM of Kerala in solar scam.

He had made a hard criticism to his fellow ministers. His remarks on Congress ministers and others within the party had even provoked KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala to openly declare that the party won’t tolerate his foul-speak and will deal with him if he continues to attack Congress leaders.
