Gujarat Assembly elections 2017: BJP releases sixth list of 34 candidates.Ahmedabad: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday released the sixth list of 34 candidates for the upcoming Gujarat Assembly elections.

So far, the party has announced nominees 182 seats. Today has been scheduled as the last date for filing nomination for the second phase of Gujarat Assembly polls.

On November 24, the party announced its fifth list of candidates that included prominent patidaar leaders and a few fresh faces.

The party’s candidates’ list also includes incumbent Chief Minister Vijay Rupani.

BJP had declared its first list of candidates with 70 names, the second list with 36 names and the third list with 28 names.

The fourth list released on November 21 contained only one name. Piyushbhai Desai has been named as the party’s candidate from Navsari.

Both the BJP and the Congress are locked in a bitter contest.

Polling in Gujarat will take place in two phases – for 89 seats on December 9, and 93 seats on December 14. Counting of votes will be held on December 18, along with the process for Himachal Pradesh, which voted on November 9.
