Congress assures AAP of support in Trust vote debate

New Delhi: The Delhi Assembly has begun it trust vote of the AAP government. While the Congress said it would vote in support of the AAP, the BJP said it will oppose.
Congress has assured the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of its “total support” even as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) accused Arvind Kejriwal of negating the mendate of people by taking support of “corrupt” Congress to form the government in Delhi.
Arvinder Singh Lovely, the newly-appointed Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee chief assured Arvind Kejriwal that his party will continue to support them as long as they continue with their “good work for the people of Delhi”.

Arvinder Singh Lovely said, “Kejriwal ji you claim your government won’t last more than 48 hours but we assure you we will support you for five years.”
During the debate, he questioned the water and power subsidies offered by the government of AAP and asked the party not to take any decisions in haste as they will put a halt on developmental issues.

DPCC chief said, “The decision to free water will not benefit the needy.”
He said that water has not become cheaper but more expensive.
Lovely questioned, “How can you offer subsidy on power when budget for this financial year has been allocated already? How was subsidy allowed without assembly approval?”
He also said, “Congress also provided subsidy, so how is AAP different from us then?”
Notify that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had said earlier that he is not worried about his government’s fate when the assembly votes on the confidence motion. He said that we are here in politics to make good governance. We are here to work for common people and remove corruption from politics. Whom so ever it is who indulge in corruption, will be punished.
Kejriwal said in assembly, “People have faith in us, we have no fear.”

Anti-graft activist Anna Hazare has expressed his confidence over AAP winning the trust vote in Delhi. Anna said, “I am confident that the Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP Government will win the trust vote. If the Congress withdraws support, it will send a wrong message.”
