Mumbai: Actor-filmmaker-producer Ajay Devgn turned 49 today. The hunk of a superstar, who made his debut as an action-hero in Phool Aur Kaante way back in the year 1991, is one of the most versatile actors of Indian cinema.
With two National Film awards in his kitty (Zakhm in 1998) and The (Legend of Bhagat Singh in 2002), Ajay has a number of other noteworthy performances to his credit.
Ajay has played a variety of roles so far. As Malik in 2002 crime-thriller Company to Vanraj in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s romantic tale – Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, from Inspector Amit Kumar in Gangaajal to Michael Mukherjee in Yuva, from Manoj in Raincoat to Manoj Shastri in Apaharan, from Gopal in the Golmaal series to Bajirao Singham in the Singham series, from Omkara Shukla in Omkara to Sultan Mirza in Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai, from Jassi in Son of Sradaar to Vijay Salgaonkar in Drishyam, and last but not the least from Bhavani Singh in Baadshaho to Amay Patnaik in Raid, Ajay has proved his versatality multiple times.

Son of action master Veeru Devgan, Ajay was named Vishal. He changed his name to Ajay before entering the film industry as an actor.
He is married to Kajol, one of the best actresses of Indian cinema. The duo fell in love while shooting for a film about a couple of decades ago. They have been blissfully married since 24 February 1999.
The couple is blessed with daughter Nysa and son Yug.
