Bhopal: In a tragic incident, a jilted lover on Thursday night shot at a bride on the stage in full public view at a marriage garden in Lalghati area of the city. The incident occurred at 11:15 pm on Thursday.
The man, identified as one Anurag, fired two rounds, and was caught by the people present there soon after the incident and handed over to the police. The woman later succumbed to her injuries in the hospital.
Anurag later told police that he took the extreme step as the woman, identified as Jaishri Namdeo who was a doctor by profession, had allegedly cheated him, police said, adding further investigations were on. However, reports said that Jaishri had never expressed any sort of affection for Anurag.
