Maharashtra CM Fadnavis said he want Shiv Sena to be part of governmentMumbai: Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis had indicated that they need the support of Shiv Sena for the government. CM Fadnavis said that MLC Chandrakant Patil and MP Dharmendra Pradhan will talk to Sena on the issue.

“From tomorrow, senior BJP leaders Devendra Pradhan and Chandrakant Patil will hold talks with Sena leaders. BJP also wants that Sena join the government. We fully favour this,” said Fadnavis.

Notify that BJP has a total of 122 seats in the 288-member Maharashtra Assembly and claimed support of independents and smaller parties, taking the strength to 138.

Shiv Sena is the second largest party with 63 MLAs and has staked claims for the Opposition party in the House.

While the BJP does not have majority without Sena, the Sena too cannot play the role of an effective opposition party in the state while sharing power at the Centre.

A deal being reached between BJP President Amit Shah and Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray and of Sena likely to get 10 berths in the Fadnavis government, with at least four of Cabinet rank, but there was no confirmation of the same, claimed reports.
