#WorldCup2015: #India beat #UAE by 9 #wickets, make #quarter-finalsPerth: Riding on Ravichandran Ashwin’s four-wicket haul, India bundled out UAE for 102 and then chased down the total at ease in just 18.5 overs. Even though, India lost opener Shikhar Dhawan (14) early, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli stood firm to guide India to a easy victory. While Rohit remained unbeaten on a well-crafted half-century (57), Virat too played a knock of 33. With this win, India topped the group and ensured a spot in the quarters, but also bagged third successive win in the tournament, setting a new record.

After winning the toss, UAE opted to bat first but their move backfired. Umesh Yadav removed the openers early, and UAE were never in the game and they showed that they are still miles away from making a mark in the international arena. Mumbai boy Swapnil Patil, who has played with Ajinkya Rahane and Rohit Sharma at the club level, too could manage just four runs.

Despite being without the services of pacer Mohammed Shami due to a knee injury, Indian bowlers ensured that they were well on target. And with Ashwin and Jadeja striking form, captain Dhoni would be satisfied. After all, he will have to rely on his spin weapon in the days to come!
