Lucknow: Priyanka Gandhi has got started in politics from her mother’s parliamentary constituency, Rae Bareli. The district Congress committee officially announce on Monday through press release that Priyanka is in-charge of Rae Bareli. Priyanka herself said in a meeting that she was in-charge of the constituency represented by her mother. She was in Rae Bareli on a day long visit to inaugurate a five-day training camp for nyaya panchayat and block presidents of the Congress.
”Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has said that the members in the training camp will know about their rights and later help the people in improving their quality of life,” said the release issued by Vinay Dwivedi, the party’s media in-charge in Rae Bareli.
These members will not be allowed to come out of Bhuemau Guest House before March 23 and they have been asked to switch off their mobile phones. They have also been given white trouser, white T-shirt with the picture of Congress flag on it and a black cap so that they could be identified easily.
External affairs minister Salman Khurshid addressed them that there would be one or the other Central leader of the party every day to impart them training.
The executive director of Dale Carnegie Training operations in India and political blogger of www. Hamara-Congress.com, Sanjay Jha will address the party leaders on Tuesday.
A party leader said, “It is the first such training programme anywhere in the Congress. Priyanka is developing a group of strong followers.”
“This is why she is focusing on the organisation meticulously. Earlier, she and Sonia used to depend on many party leaders in selection of office bearers.”
“But now she makes it a point to personally interview them before appointing on any post. She has also asked them to stay away from media,” he added.
