Raman Singh to hold all-party meet on Naxal menace in Chhattisgarh

Raipur, May 30: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh will on Thursday hold an all-party meeting to discuss the Naxal menace due to amid criticism on the nexal movement of the deadly attack in Bastar on a Congress convoy last Saturday which killed 27 people.

whereas Congress has decided to boycott the meeting. According to spokesperson of Congress Bhakta Charan Das, the decision was taken both by the state CLP as well as the party leadership.

Raman Singh is likely to seek suggestions from members of all political parties on Naxal issue and elaborate on the latest law and order situation to the Leader of Opposition in Chhattisgarh Assembly. The situation which has cropped up after the attack and security arrangements in its wake will be closely scrutinised in the meeting.

BJP has accused Congress of indulging in “petty politics” by accusing the Chhattisgarh government of failing to provide adequate security to the Congress leaders. BJP and Congress have drawn daggers at each other on the Maoist attack in which virtually the entire leadership of the state Congress was wiped out. Left parties have also condemned the brutal attack saying they disapproved violent retribution against political opponents.
