New Delhi, May 22: Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt has been shifted to Yerawada Jail from Arthur Road Jail of Mumbai on Wednesday. Sanjay Dutt has been under media glare for almost all his life, mostly because of his underworld connections and involvement in the 1993 blasts case, on Wednesday made a quiet entry to Pune’s Yerawada Jail. Sanjay Dutt has been convicted for possessing arms illegally.
The pattern of shifting of Sanjay Dutt was quite similar to ‘Operation X’ which was conducted for the shifting of Ajmal Amir Kasab, the victim of Mumbai terror attack. Sanjay Dutt was taken out to Arthur Road jail in Mumbai around 4 am and reached Yerawada Jail by 6.30 am.
Sanjay Dutt was taken to a cell at the maximum security enclosure number 3 by Jail Superintendent Yogesh Desai after his entry in Jail, sources said. Maximum security enclosure 3 is considered the safest place in the jail after Anda Cell. General Arun Kumar Vaidya’s killers Jinda and Sukha were kept there till 1991. It is a cluster of small cells near Circle Number 3 of the jail.
