Siddaramaiah made his team for Karnataka Assembly of 2013-18 session

Bangalore, May 20: Chief Minister of Karnataka Siddaramaiah allocated portfolios to his new 28-member ministry on Sunday, keeping main and important posts such as finance, energy, industries, IT and Bangalore city with himself. Governor HR Bhardwaj allocated the various portfolios on the advice of the chief minister to 20 cabinet ministers and eight ministers of state.

The Congress returned to power after nine years by winning a comfortable 121 seats in the 225-member state legislative assembly, including one nominated member.

The chief minister of Karnataka had also keep the portfolio of mines and geology, personnel, intelligence wing, urban development, and science and technology.

The portfolio of home ministry has been allocated to KJ George, public works, ports and inland transport to HC Mahadevappa; revenue ministry to Srinivasa Prasad; law and parliamentary affairs ministry to TB Jayachandra; transport ministry to Ramalinga Reddy; rural development and panchayat raj ministry to HK Patil; higher education and tourism ministry to RV Deshpande; forest, the portfolio of ecology and environment ministry has been given to B Ramanath Rai; public enterprises and urban/local bodies to Qamar Ul Islam; agriculture marketing and horticulture ministry to Shamanoor Shivashankarappa; housing ministry to Ambareesh; small-scale industries and muzrai (endowments) to PB Hukkeri; major and medium irrigation to MB Patil; excise to Satish Laxmanrao Jarkiholi; health and family welfare ministry to UT Khader; and textiles ministry to Baburao Chinchanasoor.

The ministers of state with independent charge, food and civil supplies goes to Dinesh Gundu Rao, agriculture ministry to Krishna Byre Gowda, education ministry to Kimmane Ratnakar; women and child welfare ministry to Umashree, youth services and fisheries ministry to K Abhayachandra, infrastructure development ministry to Santosh S Lad, medical education ministry to Sharanaparakash Rudrappa Patil,  and labour ministry to Parameshwara Naik.

The ministers were sworn-in Saturday by the governor at Raj Bhavan in the city centre, five days after Siddaramaiah assumed office May 13.
