Lucknow/Etawah: women are not safe under the rule of Akhilesh Yadav’s Samajwadi Party government. News had come from home town of Samajwadi Party’s Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and Party’s President Mulayam Singh Etawah. A 20 year old college girl had died after allegedly being gang-raped and set on fire in Etawah district. It is the same Lok Sabha seat from where SP’s chief Mulayam Singh was elected.
According to reports, girl was being raped by known person. Girl was seriously injured while fire by kerosene when the girl resisted and threatened to report the matter to the police. She was admitted to Saifai hospital where this girl lost the battle of life this morning.
This incident happened at Dasermau village, 40 km from district headquarter on Tuesday evening when a young man known to the girl invited her to his home. Four other men were waiting at the house when the victim arrived. The accused allegedly set her on fire using kerosene when the girl resisted and threatened to report the matter to the police. The brother of girl has filed a complaint against five men and a woman with the lkdil police.
The police had earlier registered a case of rape and attempt to murder but have not been able to make any arrests so far. The police, on the other hand, maintained that the girl was in love with one of the accused who is named in the FIR. SSP Neelabjo Chowdhary said a panchayat was held two days ago and it had decided that the marriage should take place.
