New Delhi: Former Indian cricket team captain and captain of Rajasthan Royals, Rahul Dravid has recorded his statement with the Delhi Police in the IPL spot-fixing scandal and will be made a prosecution witness. The special cell of Delhi Police went to Bangalore on July 10 and records his statement under section 161 of CrPC. Special cell of Delhi Police will also made a prosecution witness to Rajasthan Royals coach Paddy Upton once he return to India from Africa. Police had planned to record the statement because there is a role of Captain and coach in selection of playing eleven in team.
Three players of Rajasthan Royals had been arrested by Delhi Police during IPL season 6 under the charge of spot- fixing. These players are S Sreesanth, Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan. Delhi Police is set to file a charge sheet that includes the name of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, Chota Shakeel among others in the spot-fixing scandal.
Rahul Dravid has expressed his sadness over the entire issue saying he was unaware of this scandal and termed it as a tough phase for his team.
