New Delhi: India Cements, owner of Chennai Super Kings and Raj Kundra, the co- owner of Rajasthan Royals had got a clean chit from Board of Cricket Council of India (BCCI) in IPL spot-fixing scandal.
Vice President of BCCI Niranjan Shah said at a Working Committee meeting of BCCI in Kolkata that no evidence or wrong doing had been found against Raj Kundra, Rajasthan Royals and India Cement to judges which proof that they are indulge in spot-fixing in IPL.
A two-member probe panel comprising of former judges T Jayaram Chouta and R Balasubramanian on Gurunath Meiyappan, has submitted its report to BCCI this afternoon.
The probe report will be forwarded to the IPL governing council, which will meet in here on August 2 for a final decision.
N. Srinivasan, who owns India Cements, had stepped aside as the BCCI chief after his son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan, part of the Chennai Super Kings management, was arrested on charges of betting in IPL matches. He was later released on bail.
However, Rajasthan Royals co-owner Raj Kundra was questioned by Delhi Police and was reported to have been betting on IPL matches.
The probe report will be forwarded to the IPL governing council, which will meet in here on August 2 for a final decision.
It is known as the scandal come up publicize with the arrest of three cricketers of Rajasthan Royals S Sreesanth, Ankeet Chavan and Ajit Chandila who found indulge in spot-fixing during the middle of IPL 6.
