Mayawati expelled his MP over support of ‘puppy controversy’

MayawatiNew DelhiBahujan Samaj Party suprimo Mayawati had expelled one of his Member of Parliament named Vijay Bahadur Singh, after his support to a controversial remark of BJP election campaign committee chief Narendra Modi. Narendra Modi had made a remark about 2002 communal riots in which hundreds of Muslim were killed.

Narendra Modi seems to be the front-runner for the BJP’s prime ministerial nomination, had said that the violence caused him pain just as the running over of a puppy would.

Vijay Bahadur Singh, MP of the Bahujan Samaj Party said, “If he says that he feels bad if a puppy gets crushed under the wheels of his car, then it shows that he is a sensitive and compassionate person. He is not referring to any community. His remarks are being misinterpreted.”

Just after some time of Singh’s support for Modi, Mayawati had said he would be penalised. Today, the party said Singh’s remarks are against the BSP’s “philosophy and principles.”
