Patna: Bhim Singh, minister of Panchayati Raj of Bihar, had given a controversial statement over the martyred of five soldiers on LOC on Tuesday. Bhim Singh said that jawans join the army only to be martyred. Singh said to media, “Jawans are born to be martyred. Why else do people join army and the police force?”
Singh later apologized by saying that his comments were taken out of context. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had also asked the minister to withdraw his statement.
However, the leaders of Bharatiya Janata Party slammed the minister for his remarks. “This is simply obnoxious, shocking and shameless any word is less to condemn the statement,” said Party spokesperson Rajiv Pratap Rudy.
