New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday assured that his party would make Delhi corruption free, and claimed that their candidates were honest and without any criminal charges against anyone.Today every party in India is corrupt, and so we made our own party. We will first make Delhi corruption free. We promise that electricity will be provided at half rates and 24×7 in Delhi. All our candidates are honest, principled and have a clean chit. No criminal case have ever been registered against them,” he said while addressing a gathering here.
Kejriwal on August 26 said that he would be glad to nominate former IPS officer Kiran Bedi as their party’s chief ministerial candidate in Delhi”We have been asking Kiran Bedi to join AAP but she clearly said she was not interested in politics. Even today we want Kiran Bedi to join AAP and if she joins we will nominate her as CM candidate of AAP because she has done a lot for our country. If such a person becomes the Chief Minister, it will be very good,” he said.
AAP announced its first list of 44 candidates for Delhi’s 12 constituencies on May 25, months before the city-state faces assembly elections. Prominent members Manish Sisodia and Shazia Ilmi have made it to the shortlist. Kejriwal formally launched his political outfit, ‘Aam Aadmi Party’, at the iconic Jantar-Mantar on November 26 last year.
