But now a shocking allegation which is set to land UP minister and senior SP leader Azam Khan in a major trouble an investigation done by news channel headlines today has revealed that Azam, the muslim face of Akhilesh cabinet, had asked the cops to go slow in controlling riots which erupted in Muzaffarnagar on September 7, Killing around 40 around people and injuring many others. Thespecial investigation ‘Operation Riot For Votes’ brought to fore some really disturbing facts as the undercover reporters of the channel used hidden cameras to record the statements of various police officers and the truth which came out is totally shocking to say the least .When Headlines Today reporter asked that whether Azam played a role in getting all suspects freed, the Second Officer at Faguna police station, R S Bhagaur said that yes the minister put pressure in this regard.
When Headlines Today asked: You won’t do anything; you will let things happen as they are happening? R S Bhagaur, Second Officer responded: Yes. When it was asked that this riot was a political conspiracy, Bhagaur said:
“Everyone is trying to take advantage of the situation.”Bhagaur said that it was impossible for a handful of policemen to control hundreds of armed rioters. When asked that whether police force could not reach the spot at all? Bhagaur said police were at the spot but they were outnumbered by the mob. Rishipal, Inspector at Budhana police station revealed: “I have 20 constables, 3-4 inspectors at the station. So I won’t try & send 4 inspectors to control a riot. I would think of taking my entire force to control the violence. But before I could control the situation here, riots spread to another area. By the time we went to the second place, it spread to the third place.”Meanwhile, the Jats have also accused Azam of putting pressure on the police not to act against the people of a particular community and it led to more violence in the district. It is to be noted that Azam had openly expressed unhappiness over the state government’s failure to control the riots and had also skipped the national executive meeting of the SP to register his protest.
