New Delhi: Criticising the detention of yoga guru Baba Ramdev at London’s Heathrow Airport for over six hours, his spokesman, SK Tijarawala, said on Saturday that the incident is an insult to India, its dress code and traditions. “That, it is an insult to the whole of India. This is simply a case of an insult of the Indian language, Indian attire and Indians. He (Baba Ramdev) carried four pair of clothes and a book of mantras and Vedas in Sanskrit.
They didn’t give any reason for the detention. No Indian should be insulted and detained this way,” he said. British Customs officials questioned Baba Ramdev for over six hours late on Friday night. Reports said that the questioning centered around the Baba arriving on a vistor’s visa instead of a business visa. He had arrived in London to attend a function organized by the Patanjali Yogpeeth on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of Swami Vivekanand.
