New Delhi: Harsh Vardhan attacked the Congress government in the state and pledged to stamp out corruption if his party was voted to power. A day after being anointed BJP’s chief ministerial candidate for the Assembly polls in Delhi. Promising “radical changes” in governance and a transparent and corruption-free administration, he said if need be, he would bring in modern technology in government functioning to weed out corruption. “Even if I need to visit Bangalore or Chennai to get this technology, I will not think twice before getting the software that will make workings of the government more transparent,” Harsh Vardhan said, addressing his first press conference after being named the CM candidate.
Listing the issues on which the party was going to fight the elections, Harsh Vardhan said, “We have to open fronts on all issues, be it roads, electricity, healthcare, education, Yamuna, JJ slums, unauthorized colonies Regularization, ration cards and the PDS. There is a scam in every sector… The Congress snatched away dal and vegetables from the plate of the common man and now he cannot even eat chapatti with onion. he said, blaming the Congress for the food inflation.The Delhi of my childhood had a beautiful Yamuna. It enjoyed 24-hour water supply… Today, the same Delhi has a polluted Yamuna and the roads of the city are not safe for women. Delhi is in ICU,” he said. Attacking the government on power tariff, Harsh Vardhan said if the BJP came to power, it will focus on large-scale use of solar energy. There is also a need to strengthen old institutions,” he said.
