It has become one of the top five highest grosser in non-holiday weekend in 2013. Riding on the huge hype and expectations, Ram Leela opened to a fantastic response. Having a huge amount of advance ticket booking, the movie registered an average of 80% to 90% occupancy on its opening day.
The Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone starrer raked in Rs 16 crores nett at the Indian Box Office on the first day. It became the biggest opener for Ranveer and the fifth bigger opener of 2013. Ram Leela showed a decent amount of improvement in its business on the following days.
The Sanjay Leela Bhansali-directed romance drama collected Rs 17.5 crores on Saturday and Rs 19 crores on Sunday. It has collected a total of Rs 52.5 crores nett at the Indian Box Office in the first weekend. It has become fourth highest grosser in the first weekend, beating the record of multi-starrer movies like Grand Masti (Rs 40.18 crores) and Race 2 (Rs 51.35 crores nett).
