New Delhi: Minister of State for Home RPN Singh the BJP said Modi’s security cover must be increased and that his security is the responsibility of the Central government. BJP prime ministerial candidate and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi have been given adequate security, RPN Singh Said. The Home Ministry gives security according to the threat perception. He said, Would like to remind NDA of the type of security they had given former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, they had not given him a security of the sub inspector level also and he lost his life. But I would like to assure the BJP that we are giving him full security.
The remarks came in the backdrop of the BJP Parliamentary Board passing a resolution demanding PM level security for Modi. The request comes a few days after reports surfaced alleging that the Pakistan’s ISI is looking at targeting Modi by using Khalistani terrorists. The issue was raised by senior party leader Arun Jaitley a few days ago. On October 27, ahead of Modi rally’s in Patna’s Gandhi Maidan six bombs out of 18 placed exploded and seven people lost their lives. Sources had said Modi was one of the targets and the code word being used for Modi was Machli (fish).
