New Delhi: The body of noted actor Farooq Sheikh, who passed away in Dubai last week, has been brought to Mumbai. The 65-year-old actor died on Saturday morning following a heart attack in Dubai.
He started his career in Bollywood in 1973 with ‘Garm Hava’, and two of his last performances in Bollywood were in ‘Club 60’ and in the commercially hit film ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ where he played the role of Ranbeer Kapoor’s father.
Apart from films, Sheikh made a tremendous contribution in theatre and TV as well. He was the host of the famous talk show ‘Jeena Isi ka naam hai’ on television in which he interviewed many Bollywood celebrities.
Sheikh began his career in Bollywood with Garam Hava and acted in memorable films like Umrao Jaan, Chashme Buddoor, Shatranj Ke Khiladi, Kissi Se Na Kehna, Noorie and others. His last film was the recently released Club 60. He will also be seen in upcoming film Youngistan.
