Officials of Israel demand to end mass surveillance to US

benjamin-netanyahuJerusalem: As it had been revealed that emails of the former leader of country were intercepted, senior leaders of Israel had demanded to end the alleged mass surveillance programmes which are carried out by the National Security Agency of United States.

Yuval Steinitz, the Intelligence Minister of Israel said that the alleged interception of emails wasn’t legitimate, and called for both countries to enter an agreement regarding espionage.

Uzi Landau, Tourism Minister also said that it is quite embarrassing between countries who are allies, and renewed call for the release of Jonathan Pollard, a former American intelligence analyst who has been imprisoned in the US for nearly three decades for spying on behalf of Israel.

According to reports, Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel said that their country continues to press for the convicted spy’s release.

Notify that Edward Snowden, a former Central Intelligence Agency employee, and former National Security Agency contractor had revealed that the US spying agency and its UK counterpart GCHQ targeted email addresses belonging to offices of then serving Israeli former PM Ehud Olmert and Defense Minister Ehud Barak in 2008-2011.

Meanwhile, Amit Dan, spokesperson of Olmert said that the email address targeted was one meant for queries from the public and was not used for sensitive communications.
