Lahore: Lahore High Court has stopped the PML-N government from deporting an Indian husband of Pakistani women and orders it to submit a reply till 20 December.
LHC Justice Ijazul Ahsan passed an order restraining the federal government from taking any action against the petitioner’s husband till next hearing on December 20.
Notify that Rabia Janhangir had married with an Indian National Zafar Riaz in 2005 and had two children from their married life.
Rabia Jahangir filed a petition in the Lahore High Court yesterday saying she married Indian national Zafar Riaz in 2005 and had two children out of that wedlock. Her husband has been living with his family on a residential permit. But the government of Pakistan has denied for further visa and foreigner registration officer had order him on 29 November 2013 to leave Pakistan till December 14. Rabia Jahangir had pleaded to the court to stop the government from deporting her husband and provide a permanent visa to save their marriage.
Rabia Jahangir had filed a petition while saying, “We have two children and my husband’s business in India collapsed and he has no family there to support him financially. My husband has been living with me in Pakistan after getting a residential permit.
She added, “However, the government has denied further visa to him and the foreigner registration officer on November 29, 2013, ordered him to leave Pakistan by December 14.”
The petitioner pleaded if her husband was not allowed to live with his family in Pakistan, their marriage would be in danger and the children would be deprived of their father.
