Arun Jaitley claimed Manmohan Singh as bitter manNew Delhi: Opposition leader in Rajya Sabha, Arun Jaitley commented on PM Manmohan Singh and said that Manmohan Singh sounded like a bitter man. Arun Jaitley had given this statement after the comment of Singh on the PM candidate of BJP, Narendra Modi. Notify that Singh has claimed that it would be disastrous if Narendra Modi became PM in his press conference on Friday.

Meanwhile Arun Jaitley said that no other leader since 1947 faced such rigorous scrutiny from the judiciary and from investigating agencies as Modi did for the 2002 riots in Gujarat. Jaitley pointed out that the Gujarat CM was pronounced not guilty by courts.

Notify that Singh stated in his press conference on Friday that people voted the UPA back to power in 2009 even though most of the corruption cases dated back to UPA-1, suggesting that it is not as big an issue as are being made out to be.

However, opposition leader stated that if the 2009 win nullified incidents like paying bribes to MPs to win the trust vote, the same logic should apply to Modi, who has won three consecutive assembly elections (2002, 2007 and 2012).

Jaitley said that irrespective of what historians think about Singh, people will judge his government in the elections this year over the remark of Manmohan Singh that history will be kinder to him than the contemporary media and opposition.
