Lucknow: District authorities of Shamli have started taking step to vacate the relief camp of Muzaffarnagar in concern with the cold wave gripping the north. District Magistrate KP Singh said, 267 families have left for safer places and efforts are being made by the district authorities to evacuate more families. He also said that ration of 15 days had been given to families who left the camp.
The relief camp of Kandhla has also been vacated.
The district authorities have appealed to the victims to leave the camp to prevent untoward incident due to cold wave sweeping the region.
However, the Malakpur relief camp’s victims have refused to leave due to unavailability of any safe place for them.
