Jaipur: The met report said on Friday that Fatehpur remained coldest by recording a low of -4.2 degrees Celsius. Water pipeline freeze in Fatehpur as temperature dipped at -4.2 degreesThe met office had reported on Friday that there was no respite from the shivering cold conditions across the state, especially in the Shekhawati region, where Churu and Fatehpur continued to record minimum temperatures below the freezing point. Due to the ongoing cold spell, flora and fauna have been affected in the two districts and the mustard crop has been damaged.

Meanwhile met office said that there could be some respite on Saturday as in the afternoon due to the active western disturbances cloudy conditions prevailed in northern and eastern parts of the state due to which there was a slight rise in the day and night-time temperatures.

Notify that water in the pipelines froze during the early morning hours due which the officers of the PHED have decided to supply water after 8.30am.

A  PHED engineer said, “If we start the flow, due to excessive pressure in the pipeline they can burst. Thus, we will wait till the ice converts into water before supplying it.”

In the evening, some of the roadside trees also witnessed frost. Both private and government schools are already closed in Fatehpur and normal life has been badly crippled.

This morning the temperature of Jaipur as the minimum temperatures dipped to 5.5 degrees, two notches below normal.

Fatehpur was followed by Churu that recorded a low of -2.7 degrees, Pilani 1.8, Bikaner 1.9, Sriganganagar 2.7, Barmer 4.6, Jaisalmer 5.4, Jodhpur 6.8, Chittorgarh 9.0, Udaipur 9.9 and Kota recorded a minimum temperature of 12.1 degrees Celsius.
