Mumbai: big relief to Maharashtra ex-chief minister and revenue minister Shivajirao Nilangekar, the Central Bureau of Investigation has given him a clean chit in the Adarsh society housing scam.
The CBI was filing its reply to the application in the Bombay High Court seeking to make Nilangekar an accused. The CBI has said that there is no link between Shivajirao’s role as revenue minister and the benefits derived by his son-in-law Arun Dawle, who received a flat in the Adarsh housing society.
The CBI has also stated that Nilangekar’s acts do not amount to criminal misconduct. CBI’s affidavit was filed in reply to an application of social activist Pravin Wategaonkar, seeking Nilangekar to be named as an accused in the case.
