New Delhi: Home Minister Sushil kumar Shinde is finally going to introduce the controversial bill for the creation of Telangana in lower house on Thursday. Citing the agitation over the bill, fire extinguishers and blankets will be kept ready. The visitors’ gallery will be cleared in Lok Sabha and the movements of Andhra Pradesh MPs will be closely monitored.
Parliament secretariat is taking unprecedented precautions as there are intelligence reports that protesters may jump into the LS at the time of the introduction of the bill.
The floor managers of UPA and the parliament secretariat are also worried that some MPs may take daring steps — like self-immolation — to protest against the current bill.
Official said, “We also have to take precaution to tackle such a situation.”
Both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha adjourned till 12 noon amid uproar over Telangana and other issues.
Reports claimed that Telangana Bill will be tabled today in Lok Sabha, at around 12 noon. The Bill has been listed as supplementary agenda.
Kamal Nath said, we are still holding discussions on the Telangana Bill.
Meanwhile government has still not been able to decide on tabling the Telangana Bill in Parliament as Congress MPs from Andhra Pradesh have threatened to take drastic steps, including of committing suicide.
With the MPs’ threat looming large, Parliament is sure to witness unruly scenes is Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde goes ahead with tabling the controversial bill to carve out a separate Telangana state from Andhra Pradesh.
