Islamabad: The government committee has excused itself from meeting with the committee constituted by the Taliban today Geo News reported. According to sources, the coordinator for the government’s committee, Irfan Siddiqui informed Maulana Samiul Haq about the decision. Both were due to hold one-on-one meeting today but the meeting has been canceled.
Earlier, the government’s committee held a meeting to deliberate on the formation of the Taliban’s committee and other matters. The meeting was attended by Irfan Siddiqui, Major (retd) Aamir, Rahimullah Yousafzai and Rustam Shah Mohmand.
The committee formed by the government and Taliban were due to hold their first meeting in Islamabad at 2:00 PM today. The Taliban committee comprises Maulana Samiul Haq, Professor Ibraheem and Maulana Abdul Aziz.
