Tumkur: Rahul Gandhi, the vice-president of Congress, launched the poll campaign of Lok Sabha of Congress in Karnataka on Sunday. Rahul Gandhi is on two day visit of Karnataka and addressed his first all-women rally in Tumkur.
The idea of rally of Rahul Gandhi was oriented to the women empowerment and he aim to bring more women forward in the election process.
Rahul Gandhi said, “We want to use your (women’s) strength in the progress of this country.”
He pointed out that the states where women are being empowered are progressing at a faster pace than other states. The Congress VP said that 20 lakh women in Karnataka have been associated with banks, this changed their life.
While addressing, Rahul Gandhi also spoke about his pet topic of getting the Women’s reservation Bill passed in Parliament.
Rahul Gandhi highlights the works of Congress government and said that Congress’s programs like RTI, MNREGA and others have been formulated to help the women.
Rahul had said over crime against women and said that Congress passed a stringent law against rape.
Rahul Gandhi said that there is no progress without women and Congress wants to open the doors of Schools, hospitals, Parliament for women.
