Jaipur: Former Assembly Speaker of Rajasthan and senior Congress leader Parasram Maderna had been died in a hospital on Sunday morning at the age of 88 due to respiratory problem.
Maderna was nine-time MLA and a Jat leader had been died on Sunday morning at 6 AM in SMS Hospital.
Notify that Maderna was admitted to the hospital after he had complained of swelling in his legs and stomach.
Mahipal Maderna, the elder son of Parasram Maderna and former Congress minister in Rajasthan, is in jail in connection with Bhanwari Devi’s murder case, was granted interim bail by court from 12 February to attend to his ailing father.
The funeral is likely to take place at the native village of Maderna Chadi in Jodhpur on Monday. Over the death of Maderna, the CM Vasundhara Raje, Assembly Speaker Kailash meghwal, former CM Ashok Gehlot and other political leaders condoled.
Meanwhile Raje said in a statement that Maderna was a leader of masses and a true well-wisher of the farmers. “His death is an irreparable loss of the state.”
