Kochi: The Congress President Sonia Gandhi had taken a dig over Bharatiya Janata Party and urged the people of Kerala to vote for a change on Saturday while addressing peoples in Kerala.
UPA chief said that people could either vote for a party that is building nation for 21st century or could choose a party which is imprisoned in ideology.
Sonia Gandhi said, “People of Kerala can choose a party that is building an India for the 21st century or a party imprisoned in an ideology that has become irrelevant today. They can vote for a party that has always responded to changing circumstances creatively or one that is stuck in the dark slogans of the past.”
All the party functionaries were present at the rally including Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, and newly appointed state party chief V.M. Sudheeran.
Gandhi has started poll campaign in the state ahead of the general elections that are due in May.
She also alleged on BJP by saying that they believed in violence.
She said, “They (BJP) reject this principle of non violence while we settle differences through dialogue and discussions. They settle them through brutal acts, through murder with killings.”
