New Delhi: In the Parliament complex, the parties from third front SP, JD-U, AIADMK, BJD, AGP and Jharkhand Vikas Morcha had team up together.
Leaders from the Left parties, the SP, the JD(U) and other parties on Wednesday said the Third Front would now work on “a common agenda” in both Houses and putting up a united face in parliament.
At a joint press conference after a meeting of Third Front parties in the Parliament House complex, JD(U) chief Sharad Yadav said, “This is the first step after the October 23 meeting. We are aligning non-Congress, non-BJP parties in both Houses.”
Leaders from the Left, the Samajwadi Party, the Janata Dal(United), the Janata Dal (Secular), the AIADMK, the Biju Janta Dal, the Asom Gana Parishad and the Jharkhand Vikas Morcha were present at the press conference.
CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechury said, “We will have a common agenda, and we will take up issues of concern to the common man in parliament.”
He said, “Only the Third Front can promote secularism in the country. The Congress has aligned with communal forces.”
He also blamed the Congress party for the non-functioning of parliament.
