Kolkata: The US Ambassador Nancy Powell, who had met with the PM candidate of Bharatiya Janata Party Narendra Modi on 13 of February, has sought a meeting with the Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee.
A letter of Powell regarding the meeting with Bengal CM had been reached to the state secretriate Nabanna, claimed sources.
The State government had sought a formal clearance from the ministry of external affairs for the follow up.
The meeting is likely to be held either Feb 21 or 22.
Powell met Banerjee for the first time in September 2012, after US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton came calling in May at the Writers’ Buildings.
