Hyderabad: YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) Chief Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy, his mother and party’s honorary president Y.S. Vijayamma and other family members cast their votes in Pulivendula in their native Kadapa district.
Jagan, as the young leader is popularly known, is contesting for Andhra Pradesh assembly from Pulivendula, a seat represented by his late father Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy and more recently by his mother Vijayamma.
Jagan, who is the chief ministerial aspirant, is contesting for the assembly for the first time. Vijayamma is the party candidate in Visakhapatnam Lok Sabha constituency. Jagan’s wife Y.S. Bharathi and sister Sharmila also cast their votes in Pulivendula.
Bharathi exuded confidence that the party will win 150 out of 175 assembly seats. “All options are open,” said Sharmila when a reporter asked her about which formation the party will support at the centre. Sharmila had aggressively campaigned for the party but is not contesting the election.
