Jaipur: major embarrassment for the Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI), Lalit Modi has returned as the president of one of its associate member states, Rajasthan.
Under the Supreme Court directive, the results of Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) election were declared on today.
Last week, after postponing on many occasions due to legal issues, the Supreme Court has directed election officers to open the sealed envelope, which contains the votes of the state association, on May 6.
lalit Modi, riding on the Rajasthan Sports Act 2005, contested the elections and it is believed that he has won it comfortably. The former Commissioner of the Indian Premier League was seeking to return as RCA president.
In September 2013, a life-ban was imposed by BCCI on Modi accusing him of causing financial irregularities during his tenure as the IPL commissioner.
