Hyderabad: A high decibel election campaign, marked by vitriolic accusations, for the 175 assembly and 25 Lok Sabha seats in Seemandhra would come to an end tomorrow.
As many as 3.68 crore voters are eligible to exercise their franchise on May 7 during the second phase of polling (in Seemandhra) from 7 am to 6 pm.
BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, Naidu and Pavan Kalyan, who launched the Jana Sena Party, addressed six campaign meetings in Seemandhra last week in support of the TDP-BJP combine.
Naidu’s brother-in-law and top Telugu actor Balakrishna, who is contesting from Hindupur Assembly segment in Anantapur district, has also campaigned for the TDP.
Jaganmohan Reddy, his mother Y S Vijayamma, who is the honorary president of YSRCP, and sister Sharmila have been canvassing for the success of the party.
Kiran Kumar Reddy has been campaigning for the JSP extensively, though the fledgling outfit suffered early setbacks after some prominent leaders left the party.
Chiranjeevi, Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president N Raghuveera Reddy has toured the regions in support of Congress candidates.
CPI (M) polit bureau member Sitaram Yechury, a native of Coastal Andhra, took part in electioneering for the candidates of the Left.
As many as 272 companies of the Central Para-Military Forces and over lakh personnel of the state police would be deployed for the second phase of the elections in AP.
