Shimla: At least eleven tourists were killed and around 40 injured when a bus swerved of a mountain road and fell into a gorge in Himachal Pradesh’s Sirmaur district late Monday, police said.
Most of the passengers are from Saharanpur in neighbouring Uttar Pradesh. Police arrived at the spot late, local villagers struggled in the dark to remove the bodies from the wrecked bus some 150 km south of the state state capital.
The tourist bus was returning after visiting tourist spots in the region. A week ago 25 tourists were swept by the Beas River in the state. Most of the bodies have still not been found.
