Guwahati: Assam governor J B Patnaik had rejected the rumors of denied having resigned following his meeting with President Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday.
His denial came amidst reports that the Narendra Modi government has asked seven governors, appointed during UPA-II, to step down.
Reacting to media reports on Tuesday, Patnaik said, I met the President but that does not mean I have resigned. He is a friend of mine.
He said, this was an occasion when a governor of a state met the President, that’s all. All reports about my resignation have no basis whatsoever.
