Kolkata: 7 infants from the age 0-28 days have died at Malda Medical College and Hospital of West Bengal in last 24 hours.
The Deputy Superintendent of hospital Jyotish Das said that the infants had complaint of low birth weight, malnutrition and respiratory problems.
One of them died soon after delivery, while the rest had been referred to the hospital from public health centres of Baishnabnagar, Kaliachowk, Bamungola.
Notify that this government hospital was in the news for the death of 23 infants due to unspecified illness in June too.
