New Delhi: The Education and Health Minister of Assam Himantya Biswa Sarma had resigned on Monday along with 31 legislatures with the demand of immediate removal of Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi.
The sulked MLA of Congress had tendered their resignation to the Governor. They also briefed to Governor that they have no confidence with the leadership of Tarun Gogoi.
Notify that Tarun Gogoi is close to Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi and after the results of Lok Sabha elections; Gogoi is facing opposition with their own party’s MLAs.
Congress spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi said, “There is nothing in all this speculation. The high command will take a decision in the matter.”
He also dismissed speculation that Rahul Gandhi was not allowing any decision to be taken on the leadership issue in Assam.
He said senior leader Mallikarjun Kharge was sent there as Central Observer and his report was with the high command.
